General Market Information:

HALS (Hindered Amine Light Stabilizers) UV Absorbers, Antioxidants and Optical Brighteners are different types of additives that are commonly used in the building and construction industry.

HALS and UV Absorbers are types of UV stabilizers that are added to materials such as coatings, plastics, and building materials to protect them from the damaging effects of sunlight. HALS, or Hindered Amine Light Stabilizers work by scavenging free radicals and other reactive species that can cause the degradation of polymers. UV Absorbers work by absorbing the UV light and converting it into heat, which dissipates harmlessly. Both additives protect the material from fading, cracking, or becoming brittle over time.

In the building and construction market, HALS and optical brighteners can be used in a variety of applications. They are added to plastics and composites used in building materials such as roofing membranes, decking, siding, and window frames to improve their durability and color stability.
