University of Toledo | Creating a Sensory Toolbox
Understanding the main determinants of product appearance and skin feel is of key importance for successful product formulation. Also, to appropriately satisfy consumers’ needs, it is essential to gather information about their perception of sensory characteristics. This research builds onto the cascade effect theory developed by Dr. Wiechers and allows us to screen the sensorial effect of emollient blends using a check-all-that-apply (CATA) survey. In this research study, we explore the benefit of blending emollients in a strategic way to create superior sensory benefits to skin creams.
